Flick gets the flick
German manager Hansi FLICK sacked following a 4-1 home friendly defeat by Japan.
First German boss to be sacked since the role was created in 1926.
Has won 12 of 25 since he took over from Joachim Low in August 2021 and lost 4 of the last 5.
Germany host the Euros next June and are probably at the lowest ebb in their history

Iron Duke 11:08 , I didn’t think much of Allo Allo at the time but love watching the repeats now . Just simple comedy ..you could almost imagine it being acted out on stage in your village hall .

Since they are hosting the Euro's they will really want to get the new guy right. It won't be Klopp though.

I opened this thinking it was going to be an RIP thread for the actor who played Herr Flick in allo allo!

But Richard Gibson is alive and well…….

Re: Flick gets the flick
I thought Flick would a be fairly common German surname - I was wrong.

2158th most common.

Three possible origins - Middle High German for lively
related to flicken to repair, kind of tailor or cobbler who specialises in repair work
ugly, someone whose face looks like it's been patched up

I'm guessing the Flicks themelves prefer the first explanation

Seem particularly to be struggling to find strikers.
Days of Gerd Muller & Klinsmann long gone when they are relying on the dismal Werner and the OAP Thomas Muller.
